‘He will be gone’: Tottenham insider shares latest on the fate of 27-year-old first-team ace

By Saikat -

Paul O’Keefe believes Sergio Reguilon is unlikely to remain with Tottenham by the time the transfer window closes.

Sergio Reguilon’s future has been up in the air since the start of the transfer window. The Spanish full-back is not considered to be an important part of the North London club’s first team and according to Paul O’Keefe, the Real Madrid academy graduate will not be at Spurs for long.

Reguilon joined Tottenham in the summer of 2020 after an impressive loan spell at Sevilla. While he was an integral part of their first team in the initial years, the 27-year-old full-back has slowly gone down the pecking order and has spent the last two seasons out on loan.

He spent the first half of last season at Manchester United before joining Brentford for the second half. He was involved in a total of 24 matches last season and even bagged four assists. While he is back at his parent club, Reguilon is surplus to requirements. With his contract running out in less than 12 months, they are looking to get him off their books.

Tottenham Insider Paul O’Keefe was asked about Sergio Reguilon’s future at the club to which he replied: ‘He’ll be gone’.

At 27, the Spanish full-back has a lot of football left in him. But, unfortunately, he is unlikely to get any game time at Spurs under Ange Postecoglou. The Australian manager doesn’t count on him and people at the club are busy finding him a new home.
