‘He will be going’: Manager has let his ‘mind to wander’, tempted by Tottenham interest

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou in recent weeks.

The 57-year-old is expected to take over from Ryan Mason as the permanent manager of the club next season.

According to journalist Tom Roddy, the Australian manager has had his head turned by the interest from Tottenham and he is likely to leave the club this summer.

“What he’s done at Celtic has been very impressive, he went into a difficult situation when Steven Gerrard ripped away the title in Scotland, he’s turned them around. He says he won’t allow his mind to wander, but from what I’ve heard at Celtic he might’ve done and quite a lot of people there think he will be going,” Roddy said on the Sky Sports podcast.

Postecoglou has done an impressive job at Celtic helping them win back-to-back league titles. His attacking approach could be the perfect philosophy for Tottenham. The north London giants have talented attackers like Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Richarlison at their disposal and these players could thrive in his system.

The 57-year-old has proven himself to be a progressive manager who can win trophies. Spurs need someone like him right now to rebuild the side.

Tottenham have missed out on a top-four finish and they will not be playing in the Champions League next season. Postecoglou will be expected to get them back into the top four right away and convince key players like Kane to continue at the club.

The Australian is an experienced manager who has proven himself in multiple leagues and he will be hoping to make his mark in the Premier League now. It is no surprise that he has had his head turned by the Spurs interest. A move to Spurs from Celtic would be a major step up next season.
