‘he is that good’: Paul Scholes makes a bold prediction about Ange Postecoglou

By Saikat -

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes feels Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou could manage Real Madrid one day.

Ange Postecoglou took charge of Tottenham last summer after doing wonders at Celtic. In his debut season at Spurs, he managed to secure a fifth-place finish despite being without their record goal scorer Harry Kane who had made the move to Bayern Munich.

While they did miss out on a Champions League spot by the smallest of margins, the Australian manager has received a lot of praise for his general style of play, footballing principles and attitude. On the back of his sensational work, he has often been linked with a move away.

Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes was full of praises while talking about Postecoglou on The Overlap. The United legend suggested that the 58-year-old could end up at Real Madrid in the long run.

Scholes said on The Overlap: “I think the only way he will leave is to go to a bigger club. I think there will be teams after him. I think he is that good [that he could go to Real Madrid]. It’s alright coming across good but his teams play good football and win things. He could get close to that top four.

“That could be a big boost for him as a manager. I think he will manage big clubs. I don’t think it will be a problem to him.”

The 49-year-old former United midfielder thinks Postecoglou could leave Spurs in the future but he will only be doing that if he has an opportunity to go to an even bigger club.

Having seen him up close in the English top flight over the last 12 months, Scholes feels Postecoglou is good enough to manage a team like Real Madrid. Apart from his general image, his footballing style and the fact that he continues to win trophies suggest that he has it in him to manage one of the best clubs in the world. The United legend is quite confident about the Australian manager’s abilities and thinks managing a bigger club won’t be a problem for him.
