Transfer insider Dean Jones has shared the latest on Tottenham’s pursuit of Gent striker Gift Orban.
Various reports over the past several days have stated that Tottenham are set to make a formal move for the 21-year-old.
Recent reports have indicated Tottenham’s strong interest in signing the 21-year-old striker. Both The Evening Standard and CaughtOffside have suggested that Tottenham is poised to make a formal move for Orban, with the latter even claiming that a formal bid is expected ‘in the coming days’.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has mentioned ongoing talks between the two clubs, and Gent’s manager acknowledged that financial considerations might lead them to sell the player.
Alasdair Gold also claimed that Spurs are aware that they need to move in quickly for him otherwise other clubs would swoop in and sign him.
And now Jones has claimed that the player is ‘convinced’ by the personal terms presented to him by Tottenham and that it is now up to the two clubs to agree on a fee.
Jones shared his insights on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, suggesting that the player’s agreement with the personal package is not an issue. The focus now lies on the two clubs reaching an agreement on the transfer fee.
Jones told Ranks FC Ultras Podcast:
“I expected progress to be made yesterday on that for Tottenham, but I’m not sure it was. That doesn’t look brilliant, but they were first on the scene and they are the most interested.
He is convinced of the personal package they have put in front of him, so that is going to be fine, it’s just about agreeing a deal with Gent, so let’s see what happens there.”
The striker’s impressive track record, including 20 goals and 2 assists in 22 appearances last season, followed by 5 goals in 4 games this season.
With personal terms reportedly verbally agreed with the player, it is very likely that he could be our next singing and he would significantly boost Tottenham’s attack.
