‘He fits in’ EPL pundit urges Spurs to sign ‘excellent’ 25-yr-old this summer

Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks and Premier League pundit Paddy Kenny has urged the London club to sign the 25-year-old before the transfer window closes.

Maddison has been an excellent player for the Foxes since joining the club for Norwich City and Kenny believes that he could take Spurs to a whole new level.

Tottenham have had an impressive transfer window so far and they have managed to strengthen the squad considerably. Kenny claims that the arrival of Maddison would be the icing on the cake for the London club and it could help them progress this season.

“It would be the icing on the cake for Tottenham,” Kenny told Football Insider.

“It would show their intent this season, to get someone of that quality. On top of what they have already got, it would be a massive signing for them.

“He is an excellent player and he does nothing more than strengthen Tottenham. He would help to push them into that third spot, above Chelsea.

“It’s progression. Players like that are always great signings. He fits in with what Spurs are trying to do.”

The 25-year-old midfielder is reportedly valued at £60 million and it seems quite unlikely that Daniel Levy will sanction a big-money move for the Leicester star unless Tottenham manage to get rid of all their fringe players.

It is evident that Spurs are missing a quality goalscorer in their midfield and Maddison would certainly address that problem. The 25-year-old managed to score 18 goals across all competitions last season and he would add enormous quality and cutting edge in the final third.

Furthermore, he is quite effective from set pieces and he would add a new dimension to Antonio Conte’s attack.

Tottenham look extremely strong on paper and there is no reason why they cannot push the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City for the title if they can bring in a proven match-winner like Maddison.
