For those of you who think he’s not even pondering leaving think again.
Club needs to now show ambition. pic.twitter.com/giBUYxLS3X
There’s something about Harry Kane that somehow causes some people to underestimate him. In truth, it’s probably a combination of his unassuming demeanour and the length of time he’s spent at Spurs. Familiarity we are told, does, after all, breed contempt. The “he’s one of our own” chant only serves to reinforce the sense of comfort that permanence offers.
Spurs fans may wish to brace themselves for a swift lesson in the difference between a ‘first love’ and ‘true love’.
The reality is that most (if not all) players want wealth and honours. Kane’s golden boots will not immortalize his career, and at Spurs, they are looking like the closest things he’ll ever get to an actual trophy.
There’s no way of spinning the interview with Redknapp Jnr that leaves cause for reassurance. Indeed, a wholly objective mind might go as far suggesting Harry just gave everyone concerned fair warning.
Well he helped put liverpool to the sword in the champions league this season.. Shame none of our lot could assist or score against the damn dippers 😂
Ah didn’t know that. I watched all his goals a year odd ago. He looked clinical. Silky smooth. I thought he’d do well at athletico. Alot like griezzeman i thought.. Still he’s only 20.. Time is on his side.
Felix has been rubbish this season.
“I’d swap him for two QUALITY proven younger attacker/strikers all day long.
Levy himself admitted when they took over that he was no fan. Then banged on about his project.
Mbappe and joao felix maybe.. Levy would nail cheapo potentials we have never heard of though.. Kane is english and irreplaceable really. Any top club would do all they can to keep him. We should be building our team around him. Not talking about when hes off. Small club mentality two for the price of one.
He has said all this before. Next 3 or 4 transfer windows are crucial. We have been standing still or going backwards for years now. Ever since the neglect started and walker bailed ship.
I think it’s good for everyone concerned with Spurs to hear this. It’s crystal clear – we can keep him if we show some ambition in the transfer market and start winning something. Otherwise he’ll move on. It’s not an unreasonable stand either. He’s done his time here, no point wasting his prime on a team that don’t choose to compete.
Ball in Levy’s court.
If the club’s hierarchy had listened to Poch when he implored them to be brave in the transfer market with substantial reinforcements, we would not be in the mess we are now, but some fans blame him rather than the board. Spurs is just a cash cow for Enic and Levy. Lewis and Levy do not even like football according to Tom Bower. Recently, this is the second time that we have had the nucleus of a very good team with the ability to turn it into a great team to win silverware, but all too predictably, the opportunity was lost.
I agree with you and because of his meanness Levy will take a hit in the market. There’s no ambiguity in what he is saying here,it’s only his way of softening the blow for the club.
Who knows if he will ever really reach the heights he deserves because Levy’s policy of having no back up for him has probably seen to it that injury will always be an underlying problem. However in limited appearances, with a proper midfield behind him he can still achieve far more than if he stayed with us.
He will go and good luck to him, who could possibly blame him? He might even have left it too late to enable Levy to wring every penny out of him as he is probably on a decline from his highest level. Football clubs will not have the same finances in place to pay huge transfer fees due to sharply declining revenues.
I’d swap him for 2 quality proven younger attacker/strikers all day long.
If his decision rests on whether he thinks the team is progressing then he is gone and that will be that in terms of contending.
No medals soon and he’ll find a club that knows how to win.
I think he’ll stay, he enjoys being underpaid, not winning anything and being injured every year because his club can’t be arsed to give him adequate rest.
