Tottenham striker, Harry Kane, seems to have dropped a major hint that he is set to sign a new contract with the club, despite ongoing speculation about his future.

In the post-match interview, Kane expressed his excitement at breaking Jimmy Greaves’ record of most Premier League goals for Tottenham, stating that he has “got plenty of years left” and that there will be “few more to come”.

Speaking about this record-breaking goal, he said (via HITC):

“It’s a magical moment. I was so desperate to do it [break Jimmy Greaves’ record] with a win. Once we went 1-0 up [against Man City], it was about the clean sheet.”

“To do it in front of the fans is a special moment. There has been so much talk about it, I just wanted to get it done. So, to do it in a big game against one of the best teams in the world is special.”

“When I started playing regularly, it wasn’t even in my imagination to score 200 Premier League goals. To be there now is exciting and I’ve got plenty of years left, so there will be a few more to come.”

Kane’s contract saga has been one of the main topics at the club, with many speculating about his future after his failed move to Manchester City. The likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United also expressed interest in signing him this summer and he continues to be linked with some of Europe’s top teams.

However, it was reported that Kane was closely monitoring the situation of Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte, whose future at the club is also uncertain. The striker was said to be happy playing under Conte, and would only sign a contract extension if the Italian remained in charge.

But Kane’s latest comments suggest that he is ready to commit his future to the club, regardless of Conte’s situation. The striker’s words have been interpreted as a strong indication that he will sign a new contract with Tottenham.

The England captain has been a crucial player for Tottenham over the years and became their all-time leading goal scorer against City.

He has established himself as one of the best forwards in the world, and his commitment to the club would be a huge boost for Tottenham, who are looking to build a strong team for the future.
