Tottenham expert Alasdair Gold has revealed that Premier League rivals Manchester City were interested in signing a couple of Tottenham players in the January window.
As per him, Manchester City had their sights on two academy players from the North London outfit.
The two players who drew the attention of City’s scouts were Mikey Moore and Callum Olusesi, both affiliated with the Tottenham U18 side.
Regarded as a top prospect in the club’s youth ranks, 16-year-old Mikey Moore has been in outstanding form. The left-winger has racked up 12 goals and 6 assists in just 10 appearances for Tottenham U18s in the U18 Premier League.
Similarly, the central midfielder Callum Olusesi is no less of a talent either. The teenager has scored five goals and provided three assists in his 12 appearances across the U18 Premier League and FA Youth Cup.
Speaking in a recent edition of Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham, Alasdair Gold mentioned the two youngsters that scouts from Etihad have been monitoring. He stated:
“You’ve got Mikey Moore, who is a real incredible talent. Callum Olusesi, as well. Both Moore and Olusesi they convinced to stay at Spurs. Many, many top clubs, I think the likes of Man City were looking to get them and teams like that.”
TBH Says:
With such top talents in the U18 side of the Lilywhites, it’s unsurprising that they are top of the table in the U18 Premier League.
While Spurs may have succeeded in warding off potential suitors for their priesd assets for now, it’s only a matter of time before other clubs come knocking for these talented individuals.
