Glenn Hoddle says one country won’t win World Cup because of Tottenham player

Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle believes it is because of players like Giovani Lo Celsothat Argentina are not the favourites to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The midfielder joined Spurs in 2019 and was expected to be an instant hit, but things haven’t gone as planned for the Argentinian. He is currently on loan at Villareal for the remainder of the season after failing to impress Antonio Conte.

Brazil and France are said to be the the favourites to win the World Cup as well as Argentina who have been backed by some pundits including Arsenal legend Ian Wright who believe they can go all the way to win it.

But Hoddle thinks otherwise. He does not believe they will win it because of players such as Lo Celso and Nicolas Otamendi.

The Tottenham legend stated on Michael Calvin’s Football People Podcast (via HITC):

“We’ve (England) got as much chance as anyone.

“France and Brazil will be favourites with a bit of Argentina, but Argentina are a funny team, but, no disrespect, they have players like Otamendi and players like Lo Celso, who can’t even get in the Tottenham team in their starting XI.”

Somebody tell Glenn Hoddle Lo Celso is not going to the World Cup! The midfielder suffered a hamstring injury vs Athletic Bilbao, and scans revealed that he needed surgery ruling him out of he World Cup.

Lionel Messi is almost certainly playing in his final World Cup, and the entire team will be doing everything they can to help him win. They are also unbeaten in 35 games. They have a good chance of them going all the way.
