Gareth Bale to Tottenham rumours rise up once again despite the obvious obstacle in the way

For some Tottenham fans, it would be great to see Gareth Bale back in N17 and there is no doubt he would be a massive asset on the field of play and when speculation over his future is splashed across the footballing media hopes are rising that we may see him once again in a Spurs shirt but for the umpteenth time, it is not going to happen.

Bale has come out and blamed Real Madrid for stopping him leaving the Spanish champions but he is being very disingenuous (SkySports).

If the Welshman agreed to a significant wage cut then he could leave, he still has a long term contract at the Bernabeau and Real want some sort of fee and that is understandable and there is no reason that cannot be achieved.

But when the 31-year-old is on £600k per week then something has to give and on the face of it, it is Bale that will not give any ground.

For example, if he agreed to a £200k weekly wage and Madrid wanted say £20 million then a deal would get done in a heartbeat.

But Bale will not accept that sort of wage and that is why he cannot leave Madrid and that is why he is destined to spend the next two seasons on the periphery only playing for Wales.

Now, this is an assumption but I am fairly confident that it is a correct one and that is that there is no way that Daniel Levy will pay Gareth Bale £600k per week even if he was available for a free transfer. In fact, I doubt very much that Levy would sanction a wage higher than Harry Kane, not if he wants to keep the England captain on board.

So, in conclusion, it is nice to dream about Bale coming back to Tottenham but that is all it is, a dream. It simply is not going to happen no matter what the media or pundits are spouting.
