Gareth Bale Reveals His Plans For Next Seaon

Difficult to know whether to laugh or cry at this. Gareth Bale has just told Phil Blanche for Press Association Sport that he came to Spurs to get fit for the Euros and expects to be heading back to Spain after the summer.

I’m sure Daniel Levy will be delighted to know that he’s been used as a training spar for the rehabilitation of the 31-year-old.

Quite how this plan will pan out in reality remains to be seen as Zinedine Zidane has made it very clear that he has no interest in the Welshman returning to Real Madrid under any circumstances.

So there we have it, another season on the sidelines awaits Bale, and for that privilege he will continue to pocket extraordinary sums. On an upbeat note, Spurs won’t be funding the boy’s golf habit any more.

I take a view this entire business has been a costly fiasco.

We were only ever a stepping g stone for him to get fit for the Euro’s. It also explains why he’s cruising about not wanting to pickup an injury.

A publicity stunt from the word go.

If that’s an actual quote from Bale then it’s sad – will have tarnished a wonderful legacy beyond repair. Absolutely loved him during his initial spell. 31 seems really young to be calling it a day at the top level. Shows the hunger of the Ronaldo’s and Messis is a huge part of what separates them.

It’s very sad when you think many players like Scholes quit internationals so they can prolong their career and give their clubs everything.

This has totally changed my perception of the lad.. The sooner he fcuks off the better.. If he gets injured for Wales then send him straight back.

It’s hardly surprising. He joined us on a one-year loan deal and, having had it made plain to him by Mourinho, in the manager’s words and his deeds, that he doesn’t want him around, he’s saying that he will be returning to his parent club. He is their player, after all.

He said from the off that reason he came to us was in order to get more game time, although self-evidently it hasn’t worked out as either party would have wanted. I’d have been more concerned if he had suggested that he thought he would be staying with us for another season.

Obviously another of the players in the squad Mourinho was referring to when speaking about a lack of respect for the club and the sport as a whole. Welsh mafia indeed.

Some regain fitness by playing for the Under-23s, others go to Spurs. Loved Bale, but have to use the past tense now, this is ridiculous.

He’s been indulged since September and has so far done the job against Burnley, Stoke, Palace and Brighton at home. To come out now saying he’s just using us to get fit before the Euros (for hundreds of thousands of pounds a week) and then go back to Madrid is…unbelievable.

Suits everyone, we don’t need a player who is so high maintenance, it’s just a distraction we can do without.

Use the money on a player who can contribute each and every game. There are loads of talented players out there just ask Leicester City’s scouts.

If that is a genuine comment then the timing shows a total lack of respect for the club, its fans, and its current situation. He is in no way going to risk an injury pre the Euro’s so has just declared that he will not be giving the club his commitment on the pitch for the remainder of the season. I also suspect he may know that Kane and Son are looking to leave and he came to play alongside them and will not hang around to play alongside any more of Levy’s Poundland punts.
