We did not lose, which judging by team selection and tactics seems to have been the primary intention. Lamela was brought on to shore up the draw.

Last night draw wasn’t a surprise to anyone, we’ve seen this result played out many times before. Yes there were chance to put the game to bed, but our defence is unlikely to see us over the line. Tottenham will never look comfortable at 1-0 for 90 minutes, every team is aware of this.

Creativity is at a low, nobody has the ability to chime in with a goal other than Son/Kane. Poor decision yet again to play Sanchez, Lamela being introduced? We had Dele, Lucas and Bale on the bench.

Ndombele has yet to dominate a game, gave the ball away numerous times when trying to take on multiple opponents. Loftus Cheek held his own for Fulham, safe to say they’re not aligned with superstars.

Sheffield to nick a draw at the very least.

Those who missed Sheff Utds first win of the season over admittedly a poor Newcastle side what they did well is what they consistently produced last season chasing down, harassing and scrapping for every ball. Epitomising Wilder’s passion and desire it’s not pretty but thats what they do. Given our soft centre those expecting an easy ride won’t happen. Perhaps we will overwhelm the Blades on the day but it ain’t a formality!

Whilst it’s easy getting the cheque book out which is unlikely to happen big time as those monies were spent in the summer. Instead perhaps we ought to focus on Jose’s alarming deficiencies exposed by the Fulham draw especially the timing of the subs. Overlooking Alli and Bale is baffling plus rotating the same stock which clearly ain’t working why not do what Arteta did by playing some of the youngsters?
Given that winning anything else is a bonus IMO the whole season hinges on whether the players deliver the goods by winning the Carabs Cup.

The double sessions of defending badly and how not to keep hold of the ball have obviously taken its toll on the squad.
Should have taken our chances but should not been so negative either.

Dier needs Toby alongside or Rodon at the bare minimum. Even Davies. It’s sooo blindingly obvious that Davinson is gone. Fringe players must be seething watching shit players play ahead of them.

But Winks made one (1) forward pass – that I remember – this time around! And he’s only – insert age – years old and an academy product!

Sissoko at least works hard and is decent at what he does, but you can’t trust Winks or Sanchez. The best you can hope for is that Sanchez doesn’t have a royal f+ck-up in a game and that Winks keeps a healthy passing percentage without actually contributing much.

Elevenstonedidiots

Our problem is ball retention. Centre halves who can’t pass the ball and midfielders who can’t take the sting out of the game. NDombele is a baller but needs to be better at hanging onto the ball. Its one of the great modern football mysteries that Sissoko is still stinking our team out of it.

Given the Kane chance from Aurier’s cross, Reguilon’s early chance, two or three Son chances, and the disallowed goal, on another day this is a comfortable 4-1 win.

Worryingly though, when we don’t make use of the chances, we can’t keep a clean sheet to save our lives. Palace, Wolves, Fulham, Newcastle all seemed to scare us and force us into mistakes. Why is that, when we were so tough to breach against Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea?

The lethal finishing has disappeared and the nigh-on impenetrability is gone as well. We don’t take chances when presented with them and then crawl back into our shells and wait for the inevitable. I’m worried the players have that pattern on their minds now too.

With the other big teams more or less in disarray and no one running away at the top, this will be a big opportunity missed if we don’t get our sh+t together quickly. The title is up for grabs – even after today I believe that with a few wins on the trot, we could be challengers again – but something has to change. Otherwise, we might well find ourselves in mid-table looking up at Everton, Leicester and Villa.

The first half wasn’t turgid and we were good enough to come in 2-0 up.

Something is up with how we come out early 2nd half. Ndombele had a way inferior 2nd half and I thought he was MOTM first half so there’s maybe something up there.

There we are again, trying to preserve a 1-0 lead and failing.Fair play to Fulham, they were the better team in the second half, wanted it more, played some nice stuff and thoroughly deserved their point.
We have to stop this sitting on a narrow lead,we are better than that.Mourinho is so lucky there are no fans inside the stadium. He would get roasted and rightly so.Also we showed again tonight that we still need to shift the deadwood. You know who you are.

SpursGoliath
SpursGoliath

Did you? Son’s header down…an earlier goal. Hits the keepers leg close range. Another goal. Hits the post. Another goal.

We were the better team first half. I think 2-0 against Fulham does it but we got a smidgen unlucky.

But sh’t happens. The knee jerk stuff is…look at Chelsea dropping points. Liverpool have had recent stinker results. Everton, Leicester, Wolves win lose win lose draw don’t put the mortgage on any of them. I mean Everton have a similar squad and just as celebrated a manager but are all over the shop results wise.

We played poor second half so what? It’s a season. It’s too early for Jose out knee jerk stuff. We’re in a cup final, wouldn’t surprise me we get to another cup final this season too.

We aren’t the finished article, this is half a Jose team – the players Jose has sanctioned/worked with from the start are doing well. Hojbjerg, Reggie and the improved Ndombele were our best today.

legoverlass

Why do we just always switch off in games and allow the opposition so much possession that they suddenly start believing they can get something out of the match. Sissoko upfront whilst we have Bale on the bench who needs game time? Mourinho could see we were being overrun but he was as lethargic on the line as the players on the pitch. Three points tonight and back into third yet we looked like we couldn’t give a sh*t. Fact 1. Sanchez and Dier are just not good enough. Fact 2. We have no midfield and therefore no transition.Ndombele looks like he is the only player in the middle. We need this month another centre half who can carry the ball out and pass to our own players. We need another attacking midfielder to link our play from defence to attack. Bale needs to play some consistent matches alongside Kane and Son and in front of Requilion. We are so weak at home in our billion dollar folly.
