French club won’t stand in the way of Tottenham-linked midfielder leaving

Tottenham Hotspur has wanted to improve its midfield since the summer. It seems as though Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici has his eyes on a Portuguese player with some Premier League experience.

Football.London reports that the north London-based club is monitoring the situation of Lille OSC midfielder Renato Sanches. In an interview with BFM Lille (via FourFourTwo), Olivier Letang confessed the possibility of Sanches leaving the club and said they wouldn’t stand in his way.

Paratici has already shopped in Ligue 1, adding Pape Matar Sarr from FC Metz and will join Tottenham next season, but now the club chief wants to bring in someone that can create from the midfield.

Sanches struggled with Bayern Munich following his departure from SL Benfica, but a move to France has seemed to work out well for the 24-year-old, who is now living up to the potential placed on him.

Now it seems Sanches is ready to redeem himself and attempt to play for a marquee club in Europe. Furthermore, manager Nuno Espírito Santo likes to have some Portuguese names in his squad as his time with Wolverhampton Wanderers suggests.
