Former Tottenham managing director Fabio Paratici has reportedly recommended the signing of Atalanta midfielder Ederson to the club.
As per Tottenham News, Paratici, who played a key role in various signings during his tenure at the club, has advised Tottenham to consider bringing in the Brazilian international Ederson from Serie A side Atalanta.
Ederson has been a significant figure in Atalanta’s squad, starting in 19 games during the current Italian top-flight campaign, contributing five goals and one assist.
It is not the first instance where Fabio Paratici has advised the Lilywhites to sign a particular player.
Paratici’s involvement with Tottenham dates back to 2021, when the Italian assumed the role of managing director of football for the English club. The former Juventus chief has been responsible for a number of top signings in recent years, especially from Italy’s top flight.
The likes of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur and Destiny Udogie were all signed during his tenure. All of them have proven to be vital contributors to Ange Postecoglou’s team.
In April last year, he was forced to resign after being charged for financial malpractice while at Juventus. Consequently, the Italian Football Federation imposed a 30-month ban, later extended globally by FIFA.
Even though he doesn’t currently hold an official position at the club, it was reported earlier this month that Spurs continue to consult with Fabio Paratici regarding transfers.
The club would be willing to bet on another player of Paratici’s suggestion as they seek to add depth to their midfield.
