Former Premier League star urges club to complete swap deal involving Tottenham star

By Saikat -

Former Arsenal striker and Premier l=League legend Ian Wright has now urged Manchester United to sign Harry Kane at the end of the season and offer Anthony Martial along with some cash for the England international.

Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur in recent seasons, but the Londoners have managed to hold on to him eventually.

“If Man United came now, [for] Harry Kane with a year left, let’s say they put £60m on the table and we’ll throw in someone, Martial, whatever… it’s a very good deal,” Wright said on Wrighty’s House.

“If Man United have got any serious thinking about what we need to do next, it’s a No 9. It seems like a no-brainer that Harry Kane is the person [they should sign]. He takes them somewhere else.”

It will be interesting to see if Spurs can convince the 29-year-old to commit his long-term future to the club in the coming months. The Premier League outfit are currently struggling to get back into the top four and missing out on Champions League football could be a devastating blow for them.

Top players like Kane will want to compete in the Champions League and challenge for major trophies. If the England international feels he might not be able to win trophies at Tottenham, he could look to try out a new challenge in the summer.

Kane is at the peak of his career right now and he has scored 16 goals in the league this season. He could prove to be a quality acquisition for Manchester United and Ian Wright believes that the England international could help the Red Devils mount a series title challenge next season.

Meanwhile, Martial has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and he needs a move away from the club in order to get his career back on track. It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils are prepared to offer him to Tottenham along with some cash for Kane in the coming months. Player plus cash deals are often hard to execute and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
