“Firmly on Tottenham’s radar” – Journalist confirms Spurs are interested in signing 25-year-old Premier League star

By Mehdi Gokal -

Spurs are interested in Wolves center-back Max Kilman ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Lilywhites have been reported to have long-standing interest in Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, with the club enquiring in the summer.

The player at that time made his stance clear and rejected a chance to move to London, deciding to stay with Inter Milan where he was happy.

But that has not stopped the links with the Italian with multiple reports suggesting strong interest from the club for the centre-back. However, a January move for the Italian remains unlikely according to Football London journalist Alasdair Gold.

And according to Ben Jacobs, Spurs are looking elsewhere. Speaking on the Last Word on Spurs YouTube channel, Jacobs claimed that Spurs hold an interest in 25-year-old Wolves star Max Kilman. He said:

“And I said this the last time we spoke too. Max Kilman has been firmly on Tottenham’s radar, but it’s about that period in the market when you can move.

“So there’s no point in wasting time and energy if you know that there’s no ability to sell, but now new manager and Wolves are still struggling and Kilman will be thinking about his aspirations personally.

“And he’ll have been at the football club since we last mentioned it for another year and come the summer it wouldn’t remotely surprise me even if you get some playing under Julen Lopetegui if Kilman suddenly decides that he would like to make a move.”

The 25-year-old still has a few years left on his contract at Molineux and has played an important role for Wolves this season, appearing in every minute of Premier League action.

Spiers valued the centre-back at between £20m and £30m last year, making him a less expensive option than Bastoni, who was valued at around £50m last summer.

But that is not to say he will be just as good a signing as Bastoni considering the Wolves man stats are no where as good as the Italians.

Spurs have also been heavily linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s young centre-back Piero Hincapie in the last couple of days with a summer move said to be eyed by Spurs’ hierarchy.

Conte will be hoping to sign a world-class centre-back as soon as possible though, someone who would make an instant impact to the team rather than be a long-term signing for the club.
