“Finished player” This Tottenham player comes in for some stick from these fickle fans

It seems that there is a lot of blame to go around at Tottenham following a lacklustre display against Arsenal at the Emirates yesterday.

One player that has come in for some stick is Gareth Bale, who was subbed off early in the second half after putting in a below par performance.

Bale had shown improved form in recent games and lining up alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min yesterday, a lot was expected, sadly he failed to deliver.

There are numerous reasons why Bale did not have the best of games against the Gunners, he hardly saw the ball, he had very little support from Matt Doherty down the right side and he was playing in a team where almost every single one of his teammates was underperforming.

None of this matters, of course, all that matters to a lot of these fans is the opportunity to have a whine and a go at players regardless of the circumstances.

Anyhow, Squawka put up a negative tweet about Bale and it naturally got the worms crawling out of the woodwork to have their say.

There was, however, some that did click on to what else was happening on the pitch and why Bale could not perform to the standard expected.
