Fabrizio Romano shares an update on Tottenham’s links with 9-goal attacker

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Lille striker Jonathan David.

The 22-year-old Canadian international was linked with a move to the London club a year ago, and there have been rumours regarding a potential move to Tottenham ever since.

Weighing in on the same, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Spurs have not had any talks with the French club regarding David and they have not spoken to the player’s agents either.

Romano said to CaughtOffside: “At the moment there are no conversations or contacts between Spurs and Lille or Jonathan David’s agents. Tottenham were informed on David one year ago but it’s still quiet now. I think he’d be great solution for many clubs, including Tottenham; he’s a very good striker.”

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for the Canadian international in the upcoming windows.

Harry Kane is currently the only reliable goalscorer at the club, and Antonio Conte could certainly use another striker.

Jonathan David has established himself as one of the most promising young attackers around Europe and he has scored nine goals and picked up three assists across all competitions for Lille this season.

The player has the potential to develop into a top-class goalscorer, and it will be interesting to see if he can secure a move to the Premier League in the near future.

A move to Spurs would be a step up in the player’s career and he would get to showcase his qualities at a higher level with them.

Furthermore, a world-class coach like Antonio Conte could help the young striker fulfil his tremendous potential.

Tottenham have a formidable squad at their disposal and there is no reason why they cannot challenge for the major trophies with a couple of intelligent additions in the upcoming windows.
