Fabrizio Romano says ‘many clubs’ have ‘looked at’ Spurs star

By Saikat -

Son Heung-Min has firmly established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League since his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 30-year-old South Korean international is a key player for Antonio Conte and his recent return to form will delight the fans and the dressing room.

Son had a slow start to the season after failing to score in a number of games. However, he returned to form with a scintillating hat-trick against Leicester City recently.

According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, many clubs across Europe have looked at him as a potential target but he is considered as an untouchable asset by club Chairman Daniel Levy.

Romano, in his newsletter, claims: “I started today’s column talking about Harry Kane, but what about his hugely underrated strike partner Son Heung-min?

“Despite being such a top performer for Tottenham for so many years, he’s rarely someone we hear about on the transfer market.

“Well, it’s not due to a lack of interest – there have been many clubs who have looked at him, but he’s always been considered untouchable by Tottenham. When that is the case, it is almost impossible to negotiate with Daniel Levy.

“He’s also really happy in London, and that is why a move away has never been advanced.”

It is no surprise that a world-class player like Son is being monitored by other European clubs. However, it seems almost impossible that Spurs will sanction his departure anytime soon.

Furthermore, he has a long-term contract at the club until 2025 and Son is believed to be happy at Spurs.

Therefore, the fans and club hierarchy can be relaxed despite the interest from other clubs.

The South Korean is at the peak of his powers right now and he will be hoping to help Tottenham win some trophies this season.

It is imperative for the Londoners to hold on to players of his calibre if they want to challenge the likes of Manchester City for the Premier League title in the near future.

I have never rated Sterling. Fast, but misses 3 out of 4 chances, and is greedy as hell. I haven’t liked him since the last WC where he appeared utterly allergic to passing to Kane.

What I’ve seen of Kane+Grealish made me wish Southgate would wise up and drop the little tap-in merchant. Alas.

That’s the thing, England have a title winning central defender in Tomori who was called up and then not selected for either of the recent internationals. Instead he plays Maguire who can’t get game time for Man U, also plays Shaw who’s in the same boat. There’s probably plenty who disagree with me but I think Sterling is the real waste of time in the England setup, he’s being relied upon to pick the lock of defences but he struggles picking his nose, he is quite good at scoring tap ins though.

Oh, that Maguire fiasco was the first goal, my bad. The guy really can’t catch a break. Do England really have no one to step in?

With this sort of defensive mistakes, I can’t see England going far at the WC. And it’s a shame, there are some very good players in the squad.

Maguire gave away a penalty for a goal first… Then lost the ball for the second, then got back in to position but failed to block Havartz shot from 30 yards out… Fully at fault for two goals..
The final goal was Popes fault. Keeper should be holding on to that all day.

Sonny’s valued at 67.50 milllion on transfermarkt.. He’s 30 years old now so his value won’t go up..
Definitely not world class. Has always blown hot and cold.. Last season he finally had a season expected of a world class player, but it took him until 29 years old.. Then he drops off a cliff immediately..
If we are hitting a team on the counter from deep, and Son is on his game, then he can be untouchable… But give him the ball, ask him to take players on and play between the lines then he’s nearly always useless.
I love the guy, and he can be world class on his day.. But like you say a true world class player doesn’t go missing, especially in finals.

By not playing him for a minute, Southgate also inadvertently made a joke of Toney’s “I’m not gonna let the England opportunity pass me by.” It quite literally did.

Also apparently Maguire made the second German goal by himself. What was that about players on form playing instead of just big names?

I’m hoping the media get fed up with trying to sell every THFC player but won’t hold my breath.

Genius management from Southgate, get Kane as exhausted as possible during an already congested season for absolutely no reason. Will serve Southgate right if Kane is injured for any/all the WC and he has to rely on the untested Abraham or Toney. Baffling squad and team selection once again.

He’s very good, but probably the bracket down on world class for this reason.

Southgate starts Kane even in a meaningless game that England will probably lose anyway, instead of giving a chance to Toney. Why?

I’m not English, but this is baffling. Ditto picking Maguire who hasn’t played for Utd much recently, which coincides with the upturn in their form.

How much longer to we have to endue this nonsense of one minute’s silence before every game? She’s been dead for weeks now.

I have to ask myself the question, is he really world class? I think he has too many poor games where he is completely anonymous to be described as world class but I refuse to believe that he is considered “untouchable” by Levy who would sell his granny if the price was right. I wonder what Son is worth now?

Probably the fans favourite player ahead even of Harry.
