Fabrizio Romano says deal ’not easy’ but star at the ‘top of the list’ for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the North London club are still in talks with the 24-year-old defender but a deal is ‘not easy’.

Spurs are actively working on the transfer and it remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement with the German club.

It is fair to assume that the 24-year-old defender will be keen on a move to Tottenham this summer.

He has proven himself in the Bundesliga and the opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League will be an attractive option for him.

Romano further claims that Tapsoba remains at the ‘top of the list’ as Tottenham continue to search for a quality defender.

The London outfit conceded 63 goals in the league last season, and they will look to improve the defensive options before the window closes.

Cristian Romero is the only reliable defender at the club right now and Tottenham must look to find a quality partner for the Argentine international.

Tapsoba is certainly good enough for the Premier League and he could develop into a key player for Tottenham in the coming season.

The likes of Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga and Davinson Sanchez have all been linked with moves away from the North London club. Spurs must look to bring in defensive reinforcements and it is possible that Ange Postecoglou might end up needing more than just one central defender by the end of the window.

In addition to that, Tottenham are having to deal with the Harry Kane situation as well. The 29-year-old continues to be linked with Bayern Munich and general consensus is that England international might be keen on joining the German outfit.
