Fabrizio Romano provides the latest on Tottenham target Franck Kessié

Franck Kessié has been linked to Tottenham Hotspur for the last few months. The 25-year-old’s contract expires in June, and it’s likely he departs from AC Milan, and as of now, there’s no telling where the Ivory Coast international will land.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano provided the latest regarding Kessié, who’s the ideal candidate for Spurs as they want to find that spine for their midfield.

“Franck Kessié has still no full agreement with any club. Barcelona are in contact with his agent since December; they are waiting for him – Kessié has not made his final choice yet. Race still open, other clubs also interested,” Romano stated.

Both manager Antonio Conte and Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici have seen the player up and in-person during their time in Serie A, so it is no surprise that they want the midfielder for next season.

The north London club has already made additions to the midfield over the past few months. Pape Matar Sarr will be joining Tottenham in the summer following his loan stint with FC Metz, and they added Rodrigo Bentancur last month.

However, they want to add a player who will command the midfield, and Spurs feel like that guy is Kessié.
