Fabrizio Romano claims 29-year-old ‘would love to join Tottenham’

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 29-year-old dreams of joining a Premier League club during the January transfer window and he would love to join Tottenham.

“Let’s see what happens with Malinovskyi. Malinovskyi I can’t say he was close but he was the priority of Tottenham in the summer. They were hoping for a loan deal with a buy clause.

“I am told that he is a player who would love to join Tottenham. I am told that the player dreams of the Premier League in general and Tottenham would be a big dream for him.

“But at the moment it depends on Atalanta. At the moment Atalanta want between 15 and 17 million euros for Malinovskyi rather than a loan.

“But I think this will be the priority for Tottenham over a versatile attacker.”

It is no secret that Spurs need to add a bit of creativity to their midfield and signing Malinovskyi next month could prove to be a wise decision.

The player has one goal and two assists to his name in the Italian league this season and he could prove to be a useful squad player for Antonio Conte. The Ukrainian is at the peak of his career and he will look to make his mark in the Premier League. He was a key player for Atalanta last season and the 29-year-old certainly has the quality to succeed in English football.

The midfielder had 10 goals and 7 assists across all competitions for the Italian club last season.

Tottenham are currently pushing for Champions League qualification and they will need to add a bit more quality to their squad in order to beat the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool to a top-four finish.

Tottenham have quality midfielders like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Yves Bissouma, and Rodrigo Bentancur at their disposal. However, they are lacking in craft and Malinovskyi would add just that.

Given the fact that he will be a free agent in the summer, he could be available for a reasonable price next month and Tottenham should look to snap him up on a bargain.
