Fernando Muslera could help Galatasaray sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur this summer.
Galatasaray are looking to further bolster their squad after winning the Super Lig last time out. They want to add more quality to their squad and have their eyes set on Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur.
According to a report from Aspor, the Turkish club are hoping that Fernando Muslera could help convince compatriot Bentancur about a move to the Turkish champions.
The Uruguayan international has been an integral part of Tottenham’s first team setup since arriving at the club back in the winter of 2022. However, his time at the club has been plagued with injuries. He has missed quite a few games over the last two seasons because of injuries. With his contract running out in 2026, Spurs are ready to cash in on him if they receive a good enough offer.
The 26-year-old is currently valued at €35 million. While Galatasaray are keen on his signature, they are looking for a loan deal with a buy option. The Turkish club have already established contact with Spurs as they look to sign the former Juventus star.
It remains to be seen whether Bentancur is keen on making a move to the Super Lig champions where his compatriots Fernando Muslera and Lucas Torreira are already playing their football. While it will be difficult to convince him about the switch, Galatasaray are hoping the Uruguayan shot-stopper can convince his compatriot to join him in Turkiye.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club this summer as well and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to sell two central midfielders in the same window, especially when their squad is lacking in depth.
