AC Milan are close to finalizing the signing of Tottenham outcast Emerson Royal, with the deal expected to be completed in the next hours.
Emerson Royal’s future has been the talk of the town throughout the transfer window. While Tottenham have been open to selling their South American ace, interested clubs haven’t been able to meet their demands.
AC Milan have been working very hard to strike a deal with the North London club and they are now within touching distance of getting the deal over the line.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan and Tottenham are nearing a full agreement, with the Italian giants expected to finalize the signing of former Barcelona star Emerson Royal in the next few hours. The player has already agreed on personal terms with the Serie A outfit and is eager to join them as he looks to revive his career.
While the 25-year-old right-back did feature in 24 matches for Spurs last season, the majority of his appearances came because of injuries to preferred defensive options. He is not considered to be an ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s team and the former Celtic manager doesn’t count on him going ahead.
Milan have been in negotiations with Spurs for months. While they did take a back seat in their pursuit, the Italian club recently revived their interest in Emerson as they look to strengthen the right side of their defence. After long-drawn negotiations, there is a very small difference in the valuation of the two clubs. They are separated by less than €1 million, as a result, Milan are confident about getting it over the line in the next few hours.
