Euro giants eyeing January swoop for 22-year-old Tottenham player

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly willing to let Oliver Skipp leave the club in January.

According to a report from CalcioMercatoWeb, Italian giants Inter Milan are hoping to sign the 22-year-old defensive midfielder and it will be interesting to see if they can agree on a deal with the London club.

Tottenham are reportedly planning to sign the Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie and the Ivorian’s arrival could pave the way for the 22-year-old to leave in January.

Skipp has barely had any game time this season and he has started just twice in the Premier League for Antonio Conte’s side. The highly talented midfielder hasn’t started a single game in the Champions League for Tottenham and his only start came in the League Cup this season.

The defensive midfielder needs to play regularly in order to continue his development and fulfill his potential. If Tottenham cannot provide him with that opportunity, a move in January could be ideal for the player.

The report does not mention whether Inter Milan are willing to sign the player on loan or permanently. Skipp is rated highly at the London club and it would be surprising if they allowed the player to leave on a permanent deal midway through the season.

A loan move would be better for all parties and the 22-year-old could force his way into Antonio Conte’s first-team plans next season if he manages to impress during his loan spell at the Italian club.
