ENIC Face €100M+ In Fines If They Are Involved In Any Further European Super League Talks

UEFA has been mopping up the European Super League that never was after-party and issued a bill of some €13million to be shared by the English clubs that tried to escape the existing football family as part of what is being called “reintegration measures”.

Nice work if you can get it.

Furthermore, UEFA plans to deduct 5% of European competition revenues (commencing the 2023-24 season) which a cynic might suggest is timed to catch Spurs the next time they are fit enough to qualify for any foreign competitions.

What is interesting here, is that the BBC says that Spurs have apparently already agreed to UEFA that the owners will pay the fine – opposed to the football club itself.

Just in case anyone has plans to revisit a breakaway league, UEFA are threatening fines of €100m for EACH side that seeks to escape in the future.

Again, like the Chelsea deal to allow fans into the boardroom, this is more bad news for the THST. The more contrition that can be seen to be in existence the more unreasonable the Trust’s demands will appear.
