Edgar Davids Sent Off Again: Surreal Tale Emerges From Portugal

By The Boy -

Edgar Davids was a special player who lived an unusual life, it was rumoured when he took over at Barnet that on several occasions took coaching sessions …whilst sat in his Bentley. That Barnet side was unsurprisingly relegated under his watchful eye.

It now emerges from Portugal that Davids is the coach of Olhanense, an amateur club from the southern region of the Algarve. Davids has hit the headlines for the wrong reasons again. According to Spanish outlet Sport, The Portuguese National Association of Soccer Coaches (ANTF) has been forced to initiate proceedings against Edgar as he’s been operating as a coach since January 10th – without a license. So far Edgar has been sent off and banned for 8 days – which one might guess actually meant 8 games.

Will the situation resolve itself? Quite possibly, but what is almost guaranteed is that this won’t be the last nutty tale we hear involving the former Spurs player. Bless him.

Pav was decent finisher but the laziest forward I’ve ever seen, Bent was complete pance…

They knew they had to leave to challenge for the big prizes. Nothing has changed, that was almost 13 years ago…

I forgot Keane wanted to be a scouse. Lifelong fan I believe.. And Berbs definitely forced his way out too.

The Kerry blue had the Pitbull on its back. Berbs and Robbie both wanted to leave. Levy didn’t want them to go. Bent=rubbish. Suuuuuuper super PAV. I liked him. Das vidanya

Yeah I heard about that, think Davids was throwing his weight around a bit too much so Robbie laid him out him out. The Dublin Destroyer!

Loved the Keane Berba partnership, Levy sold both of them straight after we won the League Cup in 08. Typical one step forward two steps back nonsense from our esteemed chairman. Buys Bent and Pav to replace them, no idea whatsoever…

Robbie Keane dropped him 🌚 can remember when Robbie came over to the boxing gym next door to the tottenham sports centre. He had the heavy bag swinging. Worked the speed ball too. Lion.

Certainly one of the game’s eccentrics, possibly of the kind you’ll never see again. Gazza, Cantona, Di Canio and countless others.

Like life in general, it all feels very homogenised and dull these days.

I loved Davids when he first arrived under Jol, playing off left midfield. That wasn’t a bad team, did it also have the Keane Berba axis up top or was that slightly after? You could see his knees starting to go in his second season with us but enjoyed his involvement with us very, much. A quality player…
