€15 million-rated ace on the radar of Euro giants but he ‘wants’ to join Tottenham

Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer.

The 28-year-old was on loan at Tottenham last season and there were rumours that Spurs could look to sign him permanently during the summer transfer window.

The Frenchman ended up returning to his parent club but the links continue to persist that he could return to the Premier League soon. The player has now been linked with a move to AC Milan.

According to journalist Marta Fernandez, the player prefers a move to Tottenham this summer.

Apparently, the defender is valued at €15 million and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to shell out that kind of money for him.

“We have received this news from Milan but the player wants to return to Tottenham, he has a high salary and the request is €15m,” Fernandez said on TV Play.

The 28-year-old knows the club well having spent a season with them, and he should be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact next season.

Spurs were quite vulnerable defensively last season and they need to improve at the back. Someone like Lenglet could be a useful option for them.

Players like Japhet Tanganga and Davinson Sanchez have been linked with a move away from Tottenham and they are thought to be closing in on a deal to sign Micky van de Ven. Talented young defender Ashley Phillips has joined the club as well.

Improving the defensive unit should be Tottenham’s top priority during the summer transfer window and the signing of Lenglet would wrap up an excellent defensive rebuild for the club.
