Dybala To Review Contract Offer In Next Few Weeks

By The Boy -

Paulo Dybala finally looks like another one to be resigned to Daniel levy’s burgeoning ‘close but no cigar’ file at Tottenham Hotspur.

La Gazetta Dello Sport’s Nicolò Schira appears to have a decent handle on matters and if we factor in other reports in the Italian press, then Dybala has been systematically making his way back into the fold at Juventus.

Spurs fans understandably became a tad overwrought in respect of Dybala transferring to N17 in the summer, and it’s regrettable that so many outlets opted to pass off endless recaps as updates. Yes, Football London, were looking at you.

A spurious tale about image rights was recycled with gusto, but without any measured thought. Many fans had never heard of the 25-year-old Argentinian before, yet swallowed whole that this boy had a commercial deal as seemingly prohibitive as those enjoyed by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Harry Hotspur blog had the inside track, from a source close to the club, outlining that two sets of agents wanted in the region of 40% of the final selling price.

Levy was presented with a terrible deal, swollen by greed.

Mind you, this didn’t stop fans screaming on social media, that the collapse of the transfer was all down to Levy doing his usual last minute low ball routine, which on this occasion, he wasn’t guilty of.

Hopefully Paulo signs a new contract with Juve, and we can all move on with our ‘update’ free lives.

January windows are notoriously expensive too… Not levys style unless there is anyone in the bargain bucket on deadline day… I’m sure poch is just backing his players publicly as danny g says below. Standard management. He has to say this shit now, if he turns on half the deadwoods then they will play even worse… Alot of our boys poch does and will trust though, been with him a while now.

All that said about players there won’t be anyone worth signing in January as long term prospects the summer is the best time.eriksen may leave if that is so a replacement will take some finding but that also depends on funds doesn’t it baldy.

maybe poch is just frustrated because of the 4 flops he/levy/enic bought ….1 who can only play 45 minutes(and noything special at that) 1 who seems to be another darren anderton (always fit for internationals but rarely for the club) 1 who cant get fit enough to play at all…and 1 who cant even get off the bench atr a championship team….maybe he thinks giving Alli a new contract is like having a new signing….it all seems to be falling apart..gawd help us!

Who would you keep? I’d be happy to keep the following:
Kane
Son
Moura
NDombele
Winks
Sissoko
Lo Celso
Lamela
Sessegnon
Sanchez
Lloris
Foyth

For me the problems in personnel lie elsewhere in the squad. These players can be worked with.

Poch has appealed multiple times in public over the past two years for reinforcements and a rebuild — in defiance of a fanbase that largely wanted to celebrate enic inertia and zero net spend.

He now has no option but to try and make the best of the mess they have left him with. His only means now of getting a tune out of these players is to pretend they are exactly the ones he wanted and has total faith in them.

History has repeatedly shown it’s delusional to believe some other coach could have been more explicit about enic’s failings and forced them to act responsibly. You need only look at how much success AVB and Harry Redknapp had in that respect.

Will tell us loads – Their approach if we are leading, if their heads drop or not. If they beat us… My ultimate fear is teams don’t fear going behind to us – we are there now. we cant close out games and teams know it. how many games have we led and lost/drew? Some with 2 goal margins.
I agree with Danny to an extent, but “nicey nicey” has not worked up until now, I have honest concerns that Poch inability of a plan B on the pitch carries into his man management. He could easily use words like “Playing for their future”, or “We can see what January will bring…if we identify the right players and we can make a deal happen, I wont replace what I have with anything less…” there are many ways to phrase “we need better players” without throwing people under the bus. We all know players are leaving too, so they need to be filled. I honestly worry that Poch really hasn’t got a clue how to turn this around.

This is why he took the money. He’s taking the bullet for Levy.
The last blog shows the influence of the ENIC PR wing in the sports press.

Hoodwankers.

I hear you, but we’re kinda through the looking glass with this squad.

Watford won’t tell us much, they have been dreadful. There’s lots to do and these players don’t look to have it in them.

Personally I wouldn’t assume what Poch said to the press is necessarily the truth. He’s a football manager trying to get the most out of his squad. It won’t do them any good to keep hearing he wants half of them replaced. These white lies to the press are part and parcel of management. We should read too much into it.
