“Should be back” – Injury expert shares positive update on injured Tottenham star ahead of the West Ham game

Tottenham captain Heung-min Son is targeting a return to action ahead of the team’s Premier League fixture against West Ham United.

According to injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar, Son will need to pass a late fitness test to confirm his availability for the match after recovering from a thigh injury.

The 32-year-old forward has been sidelined since sustaining a hamstring injury during Tottenham’s Europa League opener against Qarabag, which has forced him to miss the last four games.

Club insider Paul O’Keefe shared an update that the player could return to full training next week ahead of the game against West Ham.

And Dr Brar, a physical therapy and sports science specialist, has now given an even better update claiming that Son’s injury does not appear to be too serious, and he is expected to be available for selection following the international break. His involvement will depend on how well he responds during team training sessions leading up to the match.

While Tottenham fans are eager to see their captain back on the pitch, Dr Brar emphasised the need for caution, advising against rushing Son’s return to avoid worsening the injury.

Speaking to Tottenham News, he said:

“Son has been ruled out with a thigh injury but it does not appear to be a serious one.

“It sounds like he should be back after the international break.

“Key indicator will be his availability and response to team training during the break.

“He will need to pass a late fitness test and his playing the full 90 minutes will depend on how he trains.“

In his absence, Brennan Johnson has stepped to become the team’s best player, having scored 6 in 6 across all competitions for Tottenham, helping them go on a 5-game winning streak. He has earned the praise of fans and pundits, including former Spurs player Michael Dawson, who raved about the Welshman.

Heung-min Son’s long-term fitness crucial for Tottenham’s season

The long-term fitness of the South Korean international is crucial as Spurs aim to finish in the top 4 this season.

Last season, Son was instrumental for Spurs, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists in 35 league appearances, further highlighting his importance to the team’s attack. His leadership both on and off the field has been a key factor in the club’s performances.

Son’s presence will be vital as Tottenham seeks to solidify their position in the Premier League this season.
