Done Deal: Poch To Be Announced As A Head Coach In A Matter Of Days

By The Boy -

According to the widely respected Fabrizio Romano, Mauricio Pochettino has finally picked up a new job with French giants, Paris St Germain. The contract with his new club was supposedly signed some days ago and the Argentine is naturally due to meet again with the club’s Sporting Director, Leonardo Araújo.

Poch revisionists are now in for disconcerting time of things as reality will overturn what had become the status quo for many of these fans; of purely revelling in the good memories.

I wish Poch well, but hopefully Mauricio has learned from his time at Tottenham, and now understands the true demands of a big club, and those demands can only be achieved if the coach is backed by the owners – well intentioned talk is not enough.

Along with all the NFL clutter, my top tip for the Spurs Experience Store in N17 is that when it next gets a chance to open, PSG shirts will be for sale. You heard it here first.

That is based on one objective by PSG, not what it will do for Pochittino CV. He is not hired to play pretty football, but to win the Champion League. The only project for PSG is we spend the money, you go win the CL otherwise you are out in maximum 2 years.

Keep writing the same thing. 2 years the most. The league title us a given.

Good he gets a job. But remember he is not hired to play pretty football, but to win champions League. He will win the league as all the other managers have done.

I wish Poch well and hope he is no longer a thing us Spurs fans talk about.

Jose is over a year into his Spurs tenure and Im sure this is Jose’s hardest ever job in terms of delivering the success with which he is used to.

I dont buy Harry’s phases theory- Jose delivered instant success at all his other clubs so why apply a phase philosophy to assessing his tenure with us?

I was really happy with how Spurs had progressed under Jose but the last 4 games have perplexed me with how Jose has failed to win the winnable games- it totally erased the good work of beating City, Utd, Arsenal and drawing away a Chelsea.

I’d give Jose 7/10 for his first year with us.

Against that leaky defence it has to be win or bust

Great move for us, hasn’t returned to the Premier League and has gone to a mega rich club that will arm him with the readies needed to purchase our dead wood.

Can I interest Mr Poch in Alli, Winks, Moura (yes, I now think his race at Spurs is run) and Sanchez?

How the hell is it a silly choice, whatever he achieves there is not going to look bad on his cv is it, if anything it’s the opposite.
He will know the expectations and demands given to him pre signing, he has some of the best and highest paid players in the world, and money no object for more, yeah tough !

The massive irony I thought with Botch was that he spent four or five years pre and post match banging on about ‘winning philosophy and winning mentality’ like a parrot…

Given the contrasting form of the clubs I’d take a point against Leeds Utd now gunning for our scalp!!

Being a results driven game all managers are under pressure to deliver (some chairman more tolerant than others) especially Lampard given his summer spending spree of £200m on new players!!

Actually I think any Chelsea vacancy would have suited Poch better!

Disappointed that Poch took this one. They won’t give him time, but will have loads of money. Anything short of winning the CL is a failure. Silly choice.

Manager Jose Mourinho says it would be a “big surprise” if Tottenham are busy in the January window and insists he will not ask chairman Daniel Levy for reinforcements. (Standard)

Taking on this poisoned chalice of a job Poch will discover that he is on a hiding to nothing unless of course he wins the CL trophy this season!!!
