Sadly for Tottenham, Tanguy N’Dombele was forced to leave the field with a discombobulated pinky ankle/foot injury which is currently being assessed by the club’s physios. However, for 64 minutes we got further glimpses of the raw brilliance of Tanguy. The deal with the Frenchman is that he is so damn awkward to play against; there’s the physicality, for sure, but there’s also what I’ve referred previously as the mercury fast speed that this footballing brain processes information and makes decisions. Tanguy has the potential to become a truly exceptional player. Having made his peace with José Mourinho after initial problems over his ‘suitability’ to succeed in the Premier League, this boy could be the next big thing to have hit these shores.
Elsewhere, Tanguy hit pretty respectable numbers during his 64minutes on the green stuff creating 4 chances in open play, plus making 14 passes in the Middle Third, 10 in the attacking third and just the one into the penalty area.
