Did Tottenham’s PDA Really Convince anyone? Poch Set Up For Further Humiliation

Poch’s pre Liverpool press conference was a sober affair, and with Liverpool @1/2 on, and Spurs at @5/1, it’s no great surprise. The Mauricio Pochettino kicked off proceedings by acknowledging that the win against Red Star Belgrade was only a small step. A much-needed confidence boost perhaps, but Spurs now begin again at Anfield, back in the division that hasn’t shown them in a great light thus far, this season.

The dinner for Pochettino and his coaching staff in Mayfair was a curious thing, to put it mildly.

In truth, this very public “invite from the players” was an extraordinary PDA by anyone’s standards, least of all in respect of its timing.

One could be forgiven for mistaking a knees-up in one of Londons’ posher districts for a celebration, after Spurs defeated a Serbian Pub side by a margin of 5 goals, on the Tuesday.

Yet this was in fact, a spontaneous show of affection we are told.

Last night, Leicester City players showed Brendan Rogers what a swell guy he is by smashing Southampton 0-9 at St Marys’.

As a fan, I know which soirée I’d prefer to hear about. Tottenham under Pochettino remain all wrap and no gift.

I’m struggling to think of an idea so potentially humiliating, so fundamentally stupid as a public bonding session.

So far it’s just the 2 players accusations. Nobody heard racial abuse.

I feel strangely optimistic about today. Must be the feel good factor of Tuesday. We are expected to lose today, this is when we can be dangerous. Defence will be busy though.

I have been forgiven a lot in the past. Have made some really bad mistakesdecisions. I’ve paid the price, 1000s of days behind the door and a good few months down the block (solitarily) I think this is why I can forgive. Imagine if no one forgave. Don’t knock a man for being a forgiver. If I can forgive levy I can forgive sol. Hating a man for life for changing jobs. Stupid I think.

I was one of the “Judas” banner crew back then. I’m not gonna hate him or anyone for ever. He’s done his “bird” no loyalty in football no loyalty in a pound note. Mek him carry on with his life. Yes he should’ve been honest with the fans but he wasn’t. If he’d of stayed at Tottenham he’d have no medals and relatively no money. He left and got both. All the man did was change companies for fuck sake. You gonna hate him forever coz of that? I can’t hold grudges for long. I think that’s a good thing. If he has the Midas touch in the management game hitting 70% win rates playing sexy football for me he can come back to Tottenham. Him leaving made Ledley step up. Ledley is a better defender I reckon (apart from heading) sol trumps him on that slightly I think. Ledley better on the ball.

I could never be envious of anyone associated with Chavski. Purely because they are Chavski…

All this stuff is about evidence. There must have been more than just a few players that heard it too. It will take testimonies and evidence from several witnesses to stick as a charge. If that happens then they’re banged to rights and should be punished severely.

Sol Campbell only cares about Sol Campbell, he’s nobody’s bredrin. He wants to be a Tory MP ffs… Sure, go on your own path in life and good luck etc, but in football if you make your big money and you fuck the fans over you’re on your own mate. From purely a Spurs perspective (which this blog is dedicated to after all?!) Sol can go and get fucked…

Thinking about this whole bad run with a little perspective, you have to acknowledge that the squad is no weaker than it was last season or the season before.

The problem has been the ‘freshening up’ of things via a considered and proactive transfer policy. The players aren’t suddenly worse players, they’re just stale, several key players know their future is away from the club and will be out of contract in the summer.

Add to that the anticlimax of not winning the C.L Final and knowing that your one chance to win something big with the club probably slipped away in Madrid.

I still believe on our day that we are the third best side in the league and I predict it to be tight between us and Chavski for 3 and 4th. I’ll still be disappointed if we don’t finish above Woolwich and in the top 4 places.

Tanguy is quality and Lo Celso brings flair too, Sessingnon will bring some freshness to the left flank too, either at Left Back or wide left of midfield. We can’t get those three and Foyth in the team soon enough for me.

Winks could now have a real battle on his hands getting back in this side. Not saying he’ll be the new Ryan Mason and end up moving on after being a regular but this could be a bit of a crossroads for him. His injuries haven’t helped him either.

Lamela has really shown some quality in the last couple of games and Gio arriving will gee him up. Lamela cares about his football, don’t worry about that, probably too much in fact.

Dele has begun to show a glimmer of something again in the last two games too. Thought he was a threat against Watford even if the team lacked creativity. He was good against Red Star too. Kane also looks in the mood.

Tomorrow will be tough and if we let them score early we’ll probably get beaten. It could come too soon in our recovery phase, but I can see a respectable performance and a draw not entirely out of the question…

That’s it Wayne Burnett. Good away win. I’ll be there for the north London derby at the lamex and will be watching closely. Please prove to me your not as shit a manager as I know you are. They don’t respect you mate, Apparently. Tom at Haringey fc could do a better Job than you. Yep. that Tom, the one who worked with you at Leyton. He was more clued up than you even then and you know he can handle players better than you. Your jealous of him ain’t you Wayne😂😂😂😂

The 2 fans were released on bail. The only media outlet to report this was Somerset today. That’s a bit off no? There’s a number to call if you heard specifics or have any info to help the trial. So far nobody has come forward or heard any racism. Things were thrown, there was swearing and and fraca, but nothing of a racial nature. You can’t make out anything racist on the video either. Yeovil have been dragged through the mud this week with no due process, this is only damaging race relations and is very concerning. We will see if they are charged, if they’re not don’t expect any coverage. Just like the fella who was accused of racially abusing Stirling and was found not guilty.

Manager Tom had to leave 7 players out coz of the yoevil racist ting. Said to me “their minds weren’t right” those that came in did the Boro proud. Bring on yoevil on Tuesday. Up the Boro. Carpe Diem. Our fans were fantastic again. 🎼 We’re wiiiiiiinning in the rain😁😁
