Desperate Antonio Conte ‘asks the club’ to make a second bid for star player – opinion

Nicolo Zaniolo remains the most talked about player in Tottenham’s transfer news as more and more reports suggest Conte really wants him.

It was reported a few days ago that Spurs made their first bid to Roma but saw it getting quickly rejected. It was then reported that Spurs will have no problem meeting Roma’s valuation for the player even though Roma would not prefer selling him to a foreign club.

According to the latest reports by Italian outlet Quotidiano Nazionale (h/t Express), Antonio Conte is ‘pushing for Zaniolo’ and has asked the club to make a second bid for him for a price that would ‘please the Giallorossi’. The report suggests that talks between the two clubs remain open and a ‘new offer could soon arrive’ from Spurs.

If these various reports are to be believed it seems like Conte is desperate to sign Zaniolo and which probably means he sees him as the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle for his team. The 23 year old who is considered as one of Serie A’s brightest emerging stars enjoyed a brilliant season last year helping his team win the inaugural Europa Conference League.
