Torino defender Perr Schuurs has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks.
According to journalist Dean Jones, Tottenham are interested in signing the 23-year-old Dutch international defender and they could look to make a move for him.
The player is reportedly valued at £25 million and it remains to be seen whether Spurs decide to sign him before the window closes. Arsenal are keeping tabs on the player as well and they will be able to offer him Champions League football this season. It remains to be seen whether Spurs can fend off the competition from their bitter rivals and sign the player.
Arsenal need a defender after the injury to Jurrien Timber and Schuurs would be a quality alternative.
“Perr Schuurs is certainly someone Tottenham are interested in. They have been for a while now. Had him on my radar coming into the transfer window as a player who has been on a number of clubs radars, even Arsenal had him actually,” Jones said on Ranks FC Ultras Podcast.
Tottenham defenders Davinson Sanchez, Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga have all been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
Spurs will have to bring in quality replacements if they decide to sell all three players and Schuurs could prove to be a quality acquisition.
The north London giants have already signed Micky van de Ven and Ashley Phillips earlier this summer. Signing another central defender would sort out their defensive unit for the foreseeable future.
Spurs already have Cristian Romero as a quality defender at their disposal.
Ange Postecoglou will look to get Tottenham back into the Champions League and they need more quality and depth in their squad.
Spurs have started the season well with an impressive draw against Brentford and a morale-boosting win over Manchester United. They conceded twice against the Bees in their opening game, and if they can tighten up, there is no reason why they cannot have an impressive campaign this year.
