Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba has been a topic of speculation for quite some time now.
Reports have been swirling around the potential transfer, with renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano recently shedding some light on the situation.
Romano tweeted last week that Tapsoba remains on top of their Tottenham’s transfer list and the club are still in talks with Leverkusen but the deal is not proving to be an easy one.

And Romano has now shared the latest regarding the transfer of the 24-year-old.
He told GiveMeSport:
“It’s gone a bit quiet on the media side, but I’m told that yes the deal is absolutely on.
“It’s a difficult deal and it has always been a difficult deal, because Bayer Leverkusen are a difficult club to negotiate with and we saw that with many other deals in the past.
“This is still the case because they want big money for their stars and it’s not easy at all, but Tottenham are still working.”
The urgency to strengthen the central defense has been evident for Tottenham, considering they conceded a staggering 63 goals in the league last season, the highest among top-half clubs.
Manager Ange Postecoglou himself has acknowledged the need to address this area and that the club is working on it.
As the new season looms with only two weeks left, Tottenham fans might be growing anxious, as the club appears to be distant from securing a new center-back.
However, the fact that the pursuit of Tapsoba is still active and ongoing should offer some hope and reassurance.
