Fabrizio Romano confirms Spurs want ‘deal done’ for attacker finalised by ‘next week’; negotiations are in progress

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur will enter into new negotiations with Valencia for Bryan Gil.

Despite multiple appearances on the bench this summer, Gil has been linked with a move away from Tottenham. And according to recent reports, Gil is interested in returning to Valencia, where he had a successful loan spell last season.

Spurs are open to doing a deal with Valencia despite Conte wanting the youngster to stay as they ‘want to capitalise on his loan’. A new meeting has been scheduled between Spurs and the La Liga side as negotiations for Gil’s services continue.

According to Romano, there are plans to finalise a transfer and reach an agreement for the Spanish star next week, but no details on the deal have been released.

Spurs did make a significant investment in Gil, handing over £21.4 million and Erik Lamela to Julen Lopetegui’s team in exchange for his signature

Gil is still in the early stages of his playing career and is considered to be one of the finest young talents in Spain. It would make all the sense in the world to send him out on loan for another year for him to gain regular playing time and experience rather than cashing in on him.
