Danny Rose’s departure looks nailed on.
Despite the many weird and wonderful explanations we get from fans as to what is happening with contracts, the truth is that terms are routinely agreed quite quickly and don’t need to be softly and endlessly discussed in mediation rooms.
It’s utterly irrelevant if the player is in the middle of a tournament or on holiday etc. The agents do all the heavy lifting.
Mauricio Pochettino announced today:
“Danny is our player. We are dealing with the club and the agents. They need time to sort it out. In 10 days, we will go back to London, if he is there he will be normal with the team. The club agreed a deal. I wasn’t involved in the discussion in the last week.”

Quite how the Tottenham backline will look without Rose will be interesting, if only for the fact that Ben Davies isn’t a wing back.

I made this point many years ago. Levy doesn’t do Change Management which is a critical weakness for any business.
Maybe it is in his DNA.
Byrite went pop, yet Primark still flourish…
What I’m about to say makes total sense to me, if we sign Lo Celso, or A N Other, like him, and keep Eriksen, for now.
But, before I say it, I just want to make sure that you’re sitting down, Harry … I just heard on talksport that we’re in for Carroll or Austin.
Whichever way you cut it, it’s just a shite way to operate. I’d love to hear him defend it in any way shape or form but i’m sure he’d try.
Why do Spurs struggle to make some of their best (and best loved) players feel wanted and integral; Tobes, Verts and yes Danny. Even if the hierarchy feel no personal love towards them it just makes good business sense to nurture and protect that which has proved itself for you time and time again.
Why do Spurs consistently leave important transfer dealings to the last minute? Over and over again, we do the same thing, never get a full pre-season with any new additions. It’s almost as if we never have an actual plan or timetable. Other big clubs seem to have mastered this art long ago and are at implementing their plan from the off because they understand that all the transfers might not go smoothly and want to give themselves the best chance possible of getting new signings in for as much pre-season as possible.
How are we so bad at offloading shite players like Jansen and Nocluedo, really, how? The saved wages would offset the reduced fee if that’s what it takes and just from a vibe pov, why keep sub-par dead men walking around the place, nothing positive comes from it.
I could just keep going but tbh when it comes to planning for recruitment, retention and offloading we’re really badly run.
If as seems likely Danny does go it will be a sad day.Always gives 100% and is able play full back or wingback, although his crossing on the run needs to improve.Davies is not a wingback and is adequate as a defender with no pace’
Yes he has let his mouth off at times and he always looks to have face like a smacked arse when he plays, but he is still amongst the top LBs in the PL.Sessignon is not there yet and to lose two international full backs with no replacement {as yet} is bordering on lunacy, particularly so close to the window closing. But hey the emporer is always right.
Poch: “I told Daniel during the flight from London that I will be happy with the squad that you are going to provide me to work with. I’m always happy. I’m a happy man, working with 25 players, always. We are going to have 25 players to work with. Always I was happy and I’m going to be happy. That is my nature.”
Im pleased you are happy with your 8.5m a year salary Poch, but I would like you to push the chairman to back you to build a winning team! #top4isallthatmatters
Possibly my favorite Spurs moment ever, and definitely my favorite goal, Danny Rose on his debut with that rocket of a volley against the gooners.
Annoying that Rose is leaving, as myself and the majority of Spurs fans love him and believe he is still a top level left back. HOWEVER, we do not know what system Poch is looking to play next season. Thinking that we always have to have Rose & Walker style wing backs is idiotic. Tactics change, coaches will be working on how to nulify the current popluar formation of having 1 striker and 2 wingers. Poch and his team are forward thinking & hopefully ahead of the curve.
I “think” we are looking more like a team expecting to have either 2 more defensively minded full-backs next season, or 2 wingers dropped back cover our back 3.
E.G a back 4 of Davies/Verts/Sanchez/Foyth or a back 3 of Verts/Sanchez/Dier with Sissoko & Sessegnon running the wings.
With Winks/Ndombele/Lo Celso able to transition the ball through the centre of the pitch, we can be less reliant on wing backs taking the ball up he line.
It could also mean Lloris not having to send awkward passes out to Rose or Trippier to get confused and panicky. Instead he can go to the central players.
Anyway, I love Rose like the rest of you and he will be missed no matter what.
Why are we selling players that could offer value as squad players at the least, yet keep shit like Nkludeo and Janssen. SERIOUSLY!!

I think he will make it at a club that wants to treat him as their main striker, and build attacks around him. I would rather just terminate their contracts.
Exactly, include Lo Celso in our lineup only when he’s wearing the Spurs shirt, until that time put Eriksen’s name down.
Would the last player out of THFC please turn out the lights, what is going on? Levy appears to be on one of his famous benders where he can’t help himself from racking up sale after sale, £20m here £12m there, luvvly money. Trouble is you little arsehole there isn’t much time left for replacements, have you considered that in your mad panic to fill enic’s overflowing coffers?
Are we really going to start the season with essentially just Aurier and Davies as our only wingbacks? Or is there a new formation coming because we lost so many games last season? Who knows what Pooch is thinking, but I know what Levy is thinking; SELL, SELL, MONEY, MONEY.
We’re going to have to go some to fill all these vacancies before the season kicks off, and we’ve got a snail of a negotiator to do it for us.
Just read the latest report. Its beyond hilarity…..does Levy write these pieces? It declares ENIC fc are securing a deal for Lo Celso before concluding the article with, “its unlikely a deal will be done without sale of Eriksen”. Also article announces ENIC ” shook the world” with the purchase of Ndombele…….who nobody else bid for hahahahaaa! What the blazes are these pricks smoking??
Lo Celso was 80% done last week, and what about Bale? Levy buying him too??
Utter donkey bollox.
I don’t think the sales of 28 yr old Trippier and 29 yr old Rose are damaging to the team as long as they are replaced with upgrades, although I agree that Rose always gave 100%. The problem is going to be bedding in new players with enough time before the season starts if Levy plays his usual last minute negotiating tactics.
So many in the media talking about Lo Celso being nailed on.I seem to remember he was before the Copa America started.

I think those two clubs for example would treat him as the main striker. What other choices do they have?
Why are people putting Lo Celso in our starting team……he isn’t a Spurs player.
Levy’s selling off the squad piece by piece to make sure the net spend is right back in hand….poch will be needing 4 or 5 more at this rate. Like that’s happening. This is getting worse…

We’re not keeping shit like Nocluedo and Jansen,we can’t give them away.No cunt wants them.Until they have run down their contracts we’re stuck with them.
We should try to palm off Jansen to Palace or Brighton. They can’t seem to find any strikers and you never know he might strike lucky there.
Whichever way you cut it, it’s just a shite way to operate. I’d love to hear him defend it in any way shape or form but i’m sure he’d try.
