Daniel Levy willing to use defender in a shock swap deal to sign midfield target

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of players from Serie A with the latest being Inter Milan’s defensive midfielder Kristjan Asllani.

The Albanian has attracted interest from several clubs, including Spurs. According to InterLive.it, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is considering a swap deal involving defender Radu Dragusin to sign Asllani.

Spurs are looking to bolster their midfield this summer and have identified Asllani as a target. They are prepared to offer their newly signed Romanian defender in a deal to secure the services of the Albanian.

Asllani joined Inter on a permanent deal last summer for a fee close to €10 million and has a valid contract with the club until June 2027.

Spurs have scouts present in the Euros to monitor several players and might be keeping an eye on Asllani as well, who has been one of Albania’s key players.

While Asllani may cost Spurs around €35-40 million, Levy is hoping to use Inter’s interest in Dragusin to his advantage in order to secure a more favourable deal.

His agent previously mentioned Inter as a club Dragusin would like to play for before he signed for Tottenham in January.

But the Romanian has struggled for minutes, with Romero and Micky van de Ven establishing themselves as Tottenham’s preferred centre-back partnership.
