Levy confirms ‘discussions’ regarding move that could help Spurs improve their squad

By Saikat -

Tottenham chief Daniel Levy has now confirmed that the North London outfit are in discussions with potential investors about selling a stake in the club.

Levy has revealed that Spurs need significant investment in order to reach their full potential. It will be interesting to see if they can find investors who are willing to fund their ambitious project in the coming seasons.

Levy’s statement read via Standard: “To capitalise on our long-term potential, to continue to invest in the teams and undertake future capital projects, the Club requires a significant increase in its equity base.

“The Board and its advisors, Rothschild & Co, are in discussions with prospective investors. Any recommended investment proposal would require the support of the Club’s shareholders.”

Tottenham have appointed a quality manager at the start of the season and they have put together an exciting squad. Prior to that, they managed to build a state-of-the-art stadium that has been hosting multiple events apart from football.

Tottenham have shown impressive improvement in terms of increasing their revenues and it seems that Levy is willing to help the club get to the next level by bringing in fresh investment.

Tottenham need to spend more money on their squad

There is no doubt that Tottenham need to improve their squad in the coming seasons and fresh investment will only help them find better players in the window. If Tottenham end up selling a stake in the club, the money coming in will certainly fund their rebuild. It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months.

Tottenham have been quite exciting with their attacking brand of football this season, and if they can plug the gaps in their squad during the summer transfer window, there is no reason why they cannot win major trophies next season.
