Daniel Levy regrets completing this transfer deal for Tottenham Hotspur

By Saikat -

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker joined Premier League champions Manchester City back in 2017 and he has firmly established himself as one of the best right-backs in world football since then.

The England international has been an instant hit at the Etihad Stadium and he has helped Manchester City win four Premier League titles so far. Walker has won multiple other domestic honours with Pep Guardiola’s side and a report from Daily Mail claims that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy regrets selling the player to Manchester City five years ago.

There is no doubt that Walker is one of the best players in the world in his position and Tottenham are in desperate need of someone like him right now.

Since the departure of Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid, Tottenham have lacked quality and consistency in the right-back position.

Players like Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty and Djed Spence have not been able to impress this season, and Antonio Conte will need to sort out his right back problem soon.

Spurs will be hoping to challenge for the major trophies in the coming months and Antonio Conte cannot hope to achieve his ambitions with a vulnerable backline. Bringing in a quality right back and a reliable partner for central defender Cristian Romero should be Tottenham’s top priority.

The London club have been linked with a number of players for the right-back role in recent weeks, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to dip into in the January market for the necessary reinforcements.
