Conte’s Bissouma and Bentancur vision likely to sideline 3 time Eredivisie winner’s chances

Christian Eriksen is a free agent following his six-month stint with Brentford to help show clubs that he can play football at a high level after he suffered a cardiac arrest during the UEFA Euros last summer.

The 30-year-od impressed while with The Bees to help maintain their spot in the Premier League for next season. However, now he has a decision to either remain at Brentford Community Stadium or head elsewhere.

He is unlikely to re-sign for Tottenham, who primarily play with two central midfielders under Antonio Conte and have committed to both Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma this year.

According to Sky Sports, Eriksen is understood to be deciding whether to join Manchester United or stay at Brentford. So a reunion with Tottenham Hotspur and manager Antonio Conte appears out of the question.

Both Premier League sides have made the midfielder excellent proposals, but Manchester United is thought to have a more financially lucrative contract for Eriksen.

Despite having the opportunity to work under Erik ten Hag, who he trained at Ajax before returning to football, the report adds that Eriksen and his family settled in London and have reservations about relocating. As a result, Brentford could be on the verge of retaining the star midfielder.
