Tottenham Hotspur or interested in signing the Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a while now. He was linked with the likes of Manchester City during the summer transfer window and cross-town rivals Manchester United wanted to sign him last summer.
However, the Spaniard has not been able to secure a move to England yet and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can pull off his signing in the coming months.
Fichajes claim that Antonio Conte has asked the club hierarchy to add more quality to Tottenham’s back line as he is unsure about the quality of Davinson Sánchez and Clement Lenglet.
Torres has been one of the best defenders in the Spanish league and there is no doubt that he has the quality to thrive in the Premier League as well.
Apart from his defensive qualities, he is an excellent passer from the back and he would improve the distribution greatly.
Furthermore, the Spanish defender is far from reaching his peak right now and someone like Conte could help him improve further.
The move to the London club would certainly be a step up in the player’s career and it will be interesting to see if Spurs can convince him to join their ambitious project under Antonio Conte.
p.s. Conte “has doubts” about Sanchez…….lol
I was most disappointed we didnt sign a top drawer CB in the Summer most reports stated Conte wanted one (Bastoni but there were other options)
Ryan Mason, according to Alistair Gold… 🤔
Who will be our coach next season will also have its impact.
Pao Torresnation Street …on every week well nearly ..
Absolutely, but Mudryk will probably be on the radar of many other clubs. He got a lot of very positive press recently.
I haven’t seen much of Torres, but his stats seemed pretty decent. I would prefer him to Bastoni, whom I’ve seen a few times and who never really impressed me (looks like a slightly better version of Eric Dier).
The only issue, well not the only issue but the main issue, is that reportedly Torres doesn’t want to leave sunny Spain
I watched the Portugal Spain last Tuesday night and Torres didn’t appear to be anything special but it’s obviously unfair to judge him on one game. I would much prefer Skriniar but I suspect that ship has sailed.
I think the one player we shouldn’t miss signing is Mudryk from Shaktar Donetsk. Newcastle are said to be readying a bid for him in January, and he could turn out to be a superstar.
One of the most on-the-nose deals I can remember for a long time (probably on par with making Kulu permanent) is giving Villarreal Lo Noshow and some money and getting in Torres.
Doesn’t have to be a swap, but I would imagine this is entirely doable, if the will is there. If.
