Conte gives go-ahead to sign ‘extraordinary’ player with 30 goals and 27 assists; player ‘wants to join’ as well

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is said to have given the club the go-ahead to sign Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Spurs have been heavily linked with the Ukraine international, with sporting director Fabio Paratici keen on signing an attacking midfielder and possibly another centre-half before the transfer window shuts.

Malinovskyi is valued at £15 million and is also wanted by Nottingham Forest and Marseille. That, according to the report, will not be a problem for Daniel Levy.

The north London club has already brought in a host of new players this summer, but more could be on the way as Spurs continue to off-load players in the last week of the transfer window, making space for replacements.

And now according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor, Antonio Conte has given the go-ahead to snap up the 29-year-old. But Spurs want a loan move while Atalanta prefers a permanent deal. He told GIVEMESPORT:

“I believe Ruslan Malinovskyi wants to join Tottenham and Conte is open to signing him.”

“But Atalanta would like a permanent deal, whereas I don’t think Spurs are entirely set on that at the moment. He is 29 and there’s also been talks with Marseille.”

Conte’s team at the moment lacks creativity which was evident in their draw vs Chelsea and scrappy win vs Wolves. And Malinovskyi, who has been dubbed an ‘extraordinary’ player for Atalanta by Gian Piero Gasperiniis, is more than capable of solving this issue, as reflected by his 141 goal contributions during his club career. For Atalanta only, he has scored 30 goals and provided 27 assists in 130 games. Adding these kind of numbers to what Tottenham already has would make their attack even more dangerous.

It now just remains for the north club to try and strike a deal with Atalanta. However, if they won’t budge over their loan stance then any transfer could end up dead in the water.
