Conte ‘almost certain to be on the touchline’ for Wolves

Despite numerous reports doing the rounds, including this one from a Reach PLC publication which suggested that both Tottenham’s and Chelsea’s coaches could miss their next games, it now emerges from the BBC that Conte and Tuchel probably won’t, and both men will probably be available for next weekend’s Premier League ties.

The BBC’s Simon Stone understands that the suspensions are not automatic and allow an appeal process, which is unlikely to be concluded by the time Spurs are due to face Wolves next Saturday lunchtime.

Given Conte’s post-match remarks about looking at the video, which presumably, he is referring to the incident at the end where Tuchel refuses to release Conte’s hand in the handshake after the final whistle.

As I have stated clearly already, the entire Battle of the Bridge business leaves me cold. There’s a big difference between being tough and what we witnessed on Sunday. So I hope the authorities throw the book at both coaches and send out a clear message to anyone watching, daft enough to believe that any of what went on was somehow, ‘cool’.
