Confirmed: Tottenham agree to fee for main summer target

Tottenham and Southampton have agreed on a fee for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, as confirmed by the BBC.

The exact amount has not yet been announced but the Beeb is reporting that it is less than the £25 Million the Saints was demanding but a lot more than the £15 Million that Spurs reportedly offered.

The transfer has yet to be officially announced by the club and that is probably because of the medical and administrative paperwork that comes with all transfers.

It may also be the case that the clubs want to make it a double announcement with Kyle Walker-Peters on the verge of a move in the opposite direction.

The 25-year-old former Bayern Munich player has been the number one target for Tottenham all summer, the player himself had made it absolutely clear that he wanted to leave St Mary’s, so much so that he was stripped of the captain’s armband.

The BBC also stated that Tottenham saw off Everton and two other clubs that were also reported to be interested in the services of the midfield enforcer.

This transfer must bring into question the future of Tanguy Ndombele at the club and that is sure to become a transfer saga right up until the transfer window shuts.

For now, Spurs will be happy that they have got their man.
