After the clubs champs league run poch said the club needed to ‘be brave’ and will have to operate more like liverpoo in the transfer market if we want to compete. They have been perfect example too. Poch didnt demand it but he said it publicly what was needed.. Levy is a swine he really is

Very poor performance, but then again it’s the same group of players who have underperformed all season.

The main problems are of course the full back situations and lack of a quality CB to play alongside/replace Verts/Toby.

The CM always has to include N’Dombele and ideally Lo Celso should be getting more minutes as he has matchwinning capability.

January is notoriously difficult but hopefully we can bring in a couple of fresh faces – ideally a RB and CB. In the summer I’d add a new GK, CM and CF.

I don’t want Jose to fail, we all draw pleasure from being proven right however. I don’t feel that sacking Poch and replacing him with Jose was the right thing to do. The only thing to do was back the old manager, this though was the cheaper option in Levy’s eyes.

I’ll be very surprised if it works and we make top 4 which is clearly what Levy is trying to do. Levy doesn’t understand football if he thinks with the budget that anyone else will do any better.

ENIC have neglected the team to pour concrete and fix glass panels, now they’ve sacked the guy who’s been bailing them out on the pitch. The whole situation is an utter disgrace.

I care about the club but seeing ENIC fail would give me great pleasure, despite the pain of the fans…

Just saw Dele’s comments, players were arrogant and underestimated Man U. They win four games and think they can just turn up at Old Trafford to face a team and manager under pressure and stroll to three points. Boy do we have an attitude problem. Beginning to think this team needs gutted, the way Poch cleared out the rubbish when he started.

East Stand
East Stand

Well that’s sort of what the previous manager wanted, perhaps some of you might start believing him now?

I’ve always been convince that Poch had us punching well above our weight and the only way to continue that was to back him and be proactive in the transfer market. Levy seems to have no interest in the rebuild that Poch desperately wanted.

Change the manager for a has been and expect the same over achievement? Doesn’t make sense at all…

ENIC OUT.

Aurier does need upgrading but so too do winks and sissoko. Neither can reliably progress the ball forward nor effectively screen the defence. Sissy has cost us a goal in each of the PL matches under Mourinho so far.

Neither he nor winks could have got anywhere near starting in16/17. They are more like spurs midfielders of the early 2000s. I’ve seen enough to feel neither is going to improve.

Problem starts with Aurier, can’t defend, so Sissoko has to cover for him, leaving Winks who is no defensive mid exposed in midfield with two or three players running at him. Get Aurier out of the club and get a back who can defend and cross the ball.

Serious problem with Spurs fitness, looked lethargic off the pace, and this is a team that doesn’t really press anymore. Liverpool press every game, never look tired, rarely pick up injuries. Lack of proper rest over a five year period seems to have burnt this team out.

Time it was acknowledged that the Winks Sissoko pairing is a 14th place midfield pairing. A pairing that cost poch his job.

Do not understand how Mourinho could have looked for 11 months at how that pairing has constantly failed to work and decided to go with it at OT.

The rest of this season is going to be Amazing because finally I think we will see if a proven winning manager can finally change the ‘Tottenham Mentality’ (Bill Nicholson, get’s a pass) when it comes to consistently winning football matches. And that includes winning trophies. No matter how long you’ve been supporting Spurs, it’s been there. Whether it’s 53 years like me or you can only see through 5.5 year old Poch coloured glasses, it’s there and it means when push comes to shove, we don’t turn up or we capitulate. The job the present manager has taken on with the team he has inherited is much more than has been advertised. It’s time for a lot of people to stop wishterbating, that’s right wishterbating about the incompetence of the board and Levy, about ENIC, about how we have such a great set of players, if only we had brought in this player or that player, and ‘The Project’ and all the rest of the wishterbating I sometimes read on these forums. It is what it is! I have no emotional investment in any present or former manager, I love Tottenham…. If you’ve supported Spurs for any amount of time, I can tell you one thing for sure, you have mild or raging schizophrenia or your bi-polar (heehaahaahee). When we finally become that Tottenham Winning Mentality, then everything else will follow, I hope it’s soon as I don’t know how long I can continue to keep Wishterbating…. COYS

I take it you’re referring to people like myself?

Well yes, I believe that Levy/ENIC are a hindrance to the continued development and improvement of the football team. However, I would like to see us win something big under any manager, even Jose.

I’ll be honest I’ve never been a fan of either him or his football but his redeeming feature was that he got it done, he won stuff.

Where did he win stuff? At clubs that were also serious about winning stuff and who put their money where their mouths were.

Spurs under ENIC just aren’t one of those clubs, so what Jose is even doing at Spurs is anyone’s guess. I think he desperately wanted another big job in England and nobody else would touch him with a barge pole.

Levy panicked and is now clutching at straws that his lack of investment in the team wasn’t actually the problem after all. Jose will do his best but I’m sure he’ll come to the same conclusion as Poch. That the team needs an overhaul.

I just don’t feel Jose is the right fit for us and sacking Poch rather than backing him was a massive, massive mistake…

Anyone who demands anything from Levy gets their P45. My theory is that Poch asked for more backing and he was told no so he gave up in the end. Jose won’t last for the same reason. But that doesn’t matter cos Jose is a caretaker anyway, won’t be at Spurs beyond next season, guarantee it.

Levy is the issue here, people can deny it all they want but it’s a simple fact.

Someone is to blame and it’s the people upstairs for me. Jose will do his best of course he will but he’s the wrong fit for Spurs.

He was a panic appointment by Levy as he saw top 4 slipping away, all about the money. Sadly we stand no better chance with this bloke than we did with Poch.

Tonight we saw grumpy Jose after the game, the more games we lose the more grumpy he will get. It’s easy being ‘nice Jose’ when it’s all fresh and you’ve won a few games. Let’s see his demeanour after some more of the brown stuff hits the fan…

Everyone entitled to their opinion but there is a strand of thought on here that seemingly wants JM to fail to prove their point that ENIC and Levy are tossers ( that doesn’t include you mate I hasten to add). We all know they are tossers and have hamstrung the team , in the meantime I want JM to do well and get rid of underperformers or put a rocket up their arses so they start performing …that’s what supporting the team involves….

Sissoko & Winks simply not good enough if they didn’t play for us no one would be pushing to buy either because even on their best days they’re bang average.
The full back situation is farcical we have 1 of our 2 best CBs playing LB while Sanchez and Aurrier are accidents waiting to happen on the other side.
N’dombele bit part cameos , Lo Celso non existent & the lesser spotted Sessegnon potentially 130mils worth of signings that can’t get a game.
Full backs and CM is a priority in the window and a proper No1.

Christ this forum is full of knee jerking wallies tonight. Yes – we weren’t very good at all. Yes there are massive issues to sort on defence and in goal. How can people get on the manager’s back already?! FFS. 3 wins out of 4 given the disastrous way were playing before Poch got the boot is hardly a disgrace. We can all bang on about ENIC and Levy being w.ankers until the end of time in the meantime surely we will have to get behind the manager. 2 very winnable games next up before Chelski *excluding Bayern

Was at the game tonight. Brilliant being in with the Spurs fans. We were awful, like the latter days of Poch. New defence needed with players who can pass the ball, and have some pace. Midfield non existent. No pressing, slow passing. Dele off his game , Sonny off, Harry hardly got decent possession, made UTD look like world beaters. Back to the drawing board. We don’t need to buy in January, that’s a lie. No substitute for class and we’re well short of players with class.
