Confidence high Tottenham will sign target despite Daniel Levy being Daniel Levy

Daniel Levy is one of the toughest businessmen to negotiate with, and the Spurs’ supremo has continued to show that side of him as the Lilywhites look to add new players to their team this summer.

Kim Min-jae of Beijing Guoan has emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham in recent weeks and the Lilywhites have been negotiating his transfer.

90 Mins claim that Spurs and the Chinese side are far apart in negotiations, however, Tottenham does remain confident that they will be able to reach an agreement over his transfer.

The 23-year-old is one of the best defenders in the Chinese Super League and Spurs have been monitoring him for some time now.

They believe that it is time for him to make the step up to the Premier League, but they are unwilling to meet Beijing Guoan’s asking price in typical Daniel Levy style.

90mins claims that the Chinese are looking for a fee in the region of £15m. Spurs have already made two bids for his signature, but they are both no more than £10m and have been rejected.

A source close to the situation said: “Talks are ongoing, two bids have been rejected but everyone around the deal believes the situation will be concluded.”

This is typical Levy. He will walk away for the sake of £5 million, that is what he does, he did something similar over Jack Grealish and look at how that has worked out.

If we are talking a difference of £20 million then fair enough but £5 million is chicken feed these days and it will not look good if we fail to sign a player that the club wants because Levy is being Levy once again.
