Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario faces a setback in his international duties as he’ll miss Italy’s match against North Macedonia due to illness.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) confirmed the 27-year-old’s unavailability, citing a slight fever as the reason for his absence.
The statement from the Italian Federation read:
“During the night Guglielmo Vicario suffered a slight fever. Therefore, as a precaution, Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi has been called up and will reach Coverciano in the late morning.”

He received his first call in September 2022 and has since then been a regular part of the Italian squad serving as a back up to PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Despite not securing a starting role, his presence has been notable with the Italian side.
Vicario joined Tottenham in the summer from Empoli and has been one of their best players since coming in.
His performances, marked by remarkable saves, have earned him high praise, with his standout display against Chelsea during their 4-1 defeat one of his best.
It may be a concern for Ange who will be keeping a close eye on his players on international duty.
But he will not be too worried since Vicario will have time to recover from the fever over the international break.
Their next game is against Aston Villa which will be a stern test for the already depleted Spurs side.
They will be hoping to bounce back from their back to back defeats with a win and will need their players to be at their best against Unai Emery’s side.
