Christian Eriksen proves he still has respect and admiration for Tottenham

Christian Eriksen left Tottenham to join Inter Milan in January after refusing to extend his contract with the Lilywhites.

When he left the club, it appeared as if he had fallen out with them as they wanted him to stay.

However, that might be a false impression after he reacted to Tottenham landing yet another Danish player.

Spurs have just signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton and that gave Eriksen the chance to prove that he still has respect for the club.

The Lilywhites took to social media to announce the signing of the former Bayern Munich man and Eriksen quoted the Tweet by saying he knows the club treats Danish people well and he expects them to treat Hojbjerg well.

That was nice of Eriksen, he didn’t need to say anything at all but despite the way his tenure ended at the club he still found it within him to speak well of his former club.

Hojbjerg is hopefully the first of many arrivals to Tottenham this summer as they look to get into the top four and win trophies at the end of next season.

Some players are also expected to leave the club before the new seasons begin and it remains unclear which of their players will leave, but the likes of Juan Foyth and Serge Aurier might become available for the right price.
